How to wear a tie bar (the right way)

Wearing a tie bar can add a lot to your outfit. Not only can they be used for formal occasions, to accessorize, but they are also great for everyday wear if you are looking for a more polished look.

Whilst a lot of people can get the art of tie clip wearing correct, many still fall short. Here are some tips to make sure you get it right first time.

  1. The Correct Positioning

Getting your tie clip in the right location doesn’t need to be a guessing game. Still, many people get this wrong and place their tie clip either too high or too low.

The optimal position for your tie clip is right in the middle of the third and fourth buttons of your shirt. Most shirts have the same spacing between their shirt buttons, so this method should work for you with all of your wardrobe.

  1. Chose The Right Length of Tie Clip

You don’t want your tie clip to look out of proportion or go over the edges of your tie. You also don’t want your tie clip to be too short for the tie you are wearing.

If you are wearing a skinny tie, a regular tie clip will be much too large so its idyllic for you to have a range of tie clips that you can use with your different sized ties.

  1. Keep it Straight

An off-centre tie bar can make your attire look clumsy and in-formal. You can easily get your tie bar straight by fixing it in place securely.

To keep it even more straight you should clip your tie bar down to your shirt. This will put more fabric in the tie clip and hold it in place more securely.

Custom ties are a great way to promote your business, bring your team closer together or for any special occasion. As well as this, you can customise your own tie clips to either match your custom ties or as a standalone item.
